Dotun Accuses American Embassy Of Enabling Child Kidnapping In Fiery Outburst

Dotun’s estranged wife, Taiwo Omotayo Oyebanjo, filed for divorce in 2021, alleging domestic violence, emotional abuse, and a forced abortion—claims the OAP has repeatedly denied.

In his counterclaims, Dotun asserted that his wife and her family had deliberately obstructed his access to the children.

In a new series of allegations shared on his social media page, Dotun questioned the role of the U.S. Embassy in the sudden disappearance of his daughters from Nigeria, claiming the mission violated a standing court order.

He accused the embassy of facilitating what he described as international child abduction, stating that his estranged wife took their two daughters to the United States three years ago without his permission, despite an active divorce and custody case before a Federal High Court.

Dotun said he was in possession of the children’s original passports and emphasized that the court had barred the minors from being moved outside the country’s jurisdiction.

He demanded accountability from the U.S. mission, specifically calling out the former Consul General, Mary Beth Leonard, whom he accused of overseeing a compromised and biased process that allegedly helped his ex-wife leave Nigeria with the children.

He wrote:
“Be assured, papers were most likely forged or games played. The American Embassy in Nigeria is an enabler of child abduction—very biased, with no proper investigation. They destroy families and do not protect kids. I’ve written for years and stayed silent for 3 years. It’s time. You claim to uphold fairness, but you are very unfair.”

Dotun insisted that the embassy must either return his children or provide a clear explanation for how its strict two-parent consent policy was bypassed, leading to what he describes as international parental child abduction.
