In an interview on Thursday in Lagos, Okupe emphasized the strategic involvement of global auditing firm KPMG in the process that led to the dismissal of certain ministers.

“President Tinubu has made a necessary move with his mid-term cabinet adjustments. Eliminating unnecessary ministries aligns with efforts to reduce waste and create a more efficient government, which is commendable,” Okupe stated.

He noted that, for the first time, the removal of ministers was not arbitrary but based on an internal key performance index report, with KPMG contributing to the critical assessment of ministerial performance.

According to Okupe, Nigerians now expect the president and his new cabinet to take decisive action to tackle the nation’s challenges. He expressed optimism about Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ and its potential to reshape the country.

“The president has the capacity and leadership qualities to navigate Nigeria out of the economic difficulties he inherited when he took office in May 2023,” he added.
