In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the anti-graft agency dismissed suggestions that Haske’s family ties influenced the case, describing such claims as baseless.
According to the EFCC, Haske is wanted in connection with allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering. The Commission called on members of the public with useful information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or any EFCC office nationwide.
Speaking with Daily Trust, Oyewale stressed that the case had nothing to do with politics, insisting that Haske had long been under investigation and was granted administrative bail, which he later violated.
“That is rubbish,” Oyewale said firmly. “Haske has been under investigation for years. He was placed on administrative bail but absconded from the process, prompting us to declare him wanted. How can anyone link this to politics?”
