The high-profile event was intended to formally present the ADC as a rallying point for opposition parties to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a message shared by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu, the hotel’s management expressed regret for the last-minute cancellation:

“We sincerely regret to inform you that due to an internal compliance matter that has just come to our attention, we are unable to proceed with hosting your scheduled event… We deeply apologise for the timing and inconvenience this may cause.”

The sudden development sparked outrage from opposition figures, with Momodu accusing the APC-led government of interfering to derail the coalition’s momentum.

“The intimidation of opposition by a jittery government continues… But this will not dampen the determination of those ready to challenge the ruling party head-on,” he asserted.
