Uniformed officers reportedly sealed off the building and forcibly removed individuals who were already inside.
According to Daily Trust, a senior security officer was overheard instructing his team not to allow any form of gathering within the premises.
“Ensure no one is in that hall. That’s the directive. I also heard there’s another hall upstairs—make sure there’s no meeting there either,” he ordered.
BoT members who had arrived for the meeting were left stranded outside, seen whispering among themselves, visibly uncertain about what to do next.
The PDP has been engulfed in internal crisis since its controversial 2022 presidential primaries, which sparked a wave of grievances among its top leaders.
The most recent flashpoint centers on the leadership dispute over the office of National Secretary. The tug-of-war has deepened existing divisions within the party, with Acting National Chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum and Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja reportedly heading opposing factions within the National Working Committee (NWC).
