Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Sunday, openly confronted her colleague representing Enugu West, Senator Osita Ngwu, after her comments were deleted from a WhatsApp group for senators.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a Facebook post, Akpoti-Uduaghan warned that she would escalate the issue on the floor of the Senate.

She wrote: “Dear Senator Osita Ngwu of Enugu West Senatorial District, you will reopen responses in the Senators’ WhatsApp forum and restore my deleted comments — otherwise, I will take the matter to the public domain.”

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Friday reserved judgment in the appeal and cross-appeal filed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan regarding the legality of her six-month suspension from the Senate.

A three-member panel of justices noted that counsel on both sides had formally adopted their written arguments.

Akpabio, through his legal team, is urging the appellate court to overturn the Federal High Court ruling that nullified Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension. The lower court had declared the suspension unconstitutional and a violation of her constituents’ right to representation.

However, counsel to the Senate President argued that the trial court lacked jurisdiction, insisting the dispute concerns the internal affairs of the National Assembly.
