In a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday, the APC leaders cautioned Wadada against using alleged presidential support to intimidate other aspirants, insisting that proximity to the President would not guarantee electoral victory.

They argued that with direct primaries now adopted by party stakeholders, aspirants should focus on winning grassroots support rather than seeking endorsements through what they described as underhand tactics.

According to them, President Tinubu is known as a democrat who respects the will of the majority, making claims that he would hand-pick a candidate over other popular contenders both surprising and troubling.

They stressed that politics is ultimately about numbers and urged all aspirants to sell themselves to party members and the people of Nasarawa, allowing voters to decide who is best suited for the governorship.

The APC chieftains maintained that the new direct primary system gives party members the power to choose candidates, making attempts to secure endorsements through “crooked means” unacceptable.
