Drama In Court: Three Foreign DNA Tests Ordered For Mohbad’s Son
An Ikorodu High Court has ordered that three separate DNA tests be conducted abroad to establish the paternity of Liam, the son of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The directive comes after earlier plans for a DNA test stalled, delaying the resolution of the ongoing dispute between Mohbad’s family and his widow.
Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, appeared in court with his lawyer, Oladayo Ogungbe, who explained that the previous court-approved arrangement could not proceed due to concerns about the suitability of the testing facility.
Ogungbe stated that a new arrangement has been made to prevent further disputes and ensure confidence in the results. Under the updated order, three laboratories outside Nigeria will conduct the tests: each party involved will select one lab, while the court will appoint the third.
He added that tissue samples will be used and that all three results must align before the court can accept the findings. This approach, he noted, reflects Mohbad’s family’s insistence on a conclusive and indisputable outcome.
Ogungbe also confirmed that Joseph Aloba will not bear the cost of the tests and that all parties will be present during sample collection to prevent interference.
Mohbad’s father expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision and the outlined procedure. While Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, continues to assert that Liam is the biological son of the late singer, Joseph Aloba maintains that a DNA test is necessary to remove any doubts.
The court’s ruling is expected to finally settle the paternity dispute that has persisted for several months.
