Drama In Rivers! Eze Exposes Wike’s Alleged Lies Against Amaechi, Labels Him A Violent Betrayer

A senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has forcefully refuted recent accusations made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, against former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi.

Wike had alleged that Amaechi conspired with the Federal Government during his time as Minister of Transportation under former President Muhammadu Buhari to incite unrest in Rivers State. He claimed that Amaechi’s actions contributed to a period of significant instability, including having 12 Commissioners of Police posted to the state in just three months and experiencing the unusual withdrawal of his security at 11:30 p.m.—an unprecedented move against a sitting governor.

The FCT Minister implied that while he was left to manage the escalating crisis in Rivers, Amaechi remained in Abuja, disconnected from the turmoil unfolding in his home state.

Responding in a statement on Tuesday, Chief Eze dismissed Wike’s claims as outright lies and deliberate attempts to mislead the public. He described Wike as a “serial betrayer” and “habitual liar,” adding that the Minister embodies what he called the deeply flawed leadership plaguing the country—marked by corruption, dishonesty, instability, and incompetence.

Eze defended Amaechi’s reputation, stressing that he has never been linked to violence or political manipulation through insecurity. In contrast, Eze accused Wike of being the true architect of violence during his own administration in Rivers, alleging that he used non-state actors to fuel unrest and devastate communities.

“Wike was the one who created crises and encouraged the destruction of communities through non-state actors during his tenure,” Eze asserted.
