The family of Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has filed a petition with the Inspector-General of Police, accusing his wife, Natasha Osawuru, of assault and financial misconduct.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In the petition dated November 12, the Idibia family requested an investigation into actions they claim have inflicted emotional distress, financial damage, and reputational harm on the music star.
According to the document, 2Baba and eyewitnesses reported multiple instances of physical assault allegedly carried out by Natasha in both the United Kingdom and Abuja.
The family further alleged that Natasha unlawfully accessed 2Baba’s mobile phone and bank accounts, transferring funds without his authorization.
She is also accused of withholding his personal documents, including his passport, which reportedly hindered him from attending scheduled business engagements.
“These actions have exposed him to financial loss and public humiliation,” the petition stated, expressing concern over the singer’s safety and mental well-being.
The family additionally claimed that Natasha misrepresented her marital status, insisting that 2Baba had not finalized his divorce from Annie Idibia before Natasha began presenting herself publicly as his new wife—an act they believe violates marriage laws.
They warned that the situation poses a threat to his personal security, career, and financial stability, and urged law enforcement to act swiftly.
The issue gained public attention during a recent Instagram livestream hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze, where 2Baba’s former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, accused Natasha of attempting to seize full control of his finances and career.
2Baba unexpectedly joined the session, angrily demanding that his private life be taken off public discussion. A heated confrontation was later heard between him and Natasha off-camera before the livestream abruptly ended.
Following the incident, Hyacinth Idibia shared a line from 2Baba’s track “Diaspora Woman” on his Instagram story, hinting at internal family tensions.
Meanwhile, the Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Natasha Osawuru — who represents Egor Constituency — to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee over her recent viral outburst.
