Speaking shortly after being sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, Musa said his top priority is to reposition the defence sector and enhance collaboration among all security forces.
“My first priority is to ensure the defence sector fully plays its role in securing the nation,” he said.
He stressed that effective security requires collective effort, adding that improved cooperation within the armed forces and with other security agencies would accelerate the fight against insecurity.
“It’s all about synergy. That’s what we intend to strengthen, and I can assure Nigerians that results will come in the shortest possible time,” he added with confidence.
General Musa also expressed gratitude for the support from citizens, pledging unwavering commitment to national safety.
“Nigerians have shown me great support, and I promise to do whatever is necessary to ensure that the country is safe,” he said.
On President Tinubu’s directive to him, Musa explained that the President was firm about restoring peace nationwide.
“He made it clear that security must be restored quickly. Nigerians should feel safe again — return to their farms, send their children to school without fear, and go about their lives confidently. We are working in line with Mr President’s Renewed Hope agenda,” Musa stated.
