Drama Unfolds: House On The Rock Counters Police On Pastor’s Alleged Firearm

This clarification follows a police claim that an illegal stun gun was recovered from Adefarasin, after a video went viral showing him pointing the device at a man he described as an “aggressive content creator” who was filming his vehicle.

Despite online backlash, Adefarasin maintained he did not possess any firearm.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the church revealed that Pastor Adefarasin was detained for several hours on Tuesday but was released without any charges being filed.

The church criticized the police for inaccurately describing the stun device as a prohibited weapon, insisting that the pastor’s “strobe-light stinger” does not fall under banned or illegal items under Nigerian law. Legal experts, according to the church, have affirmed the device is mischaracterized.

The statement read in part:

“Pastor Paul was detained for several hours and released without charge. During that time, an official police tweet mischaracterized his strobe-light stinger—commonly referred to as a stun gun—as ‘prohibited anti-riot equipment.’ Leading Nigerian lawyers advise that this description is legally incorrect.

Pastor Paul remains fully cooperative with the ongoing investigation and is confident that a review of the facts will lead to his full exoneration.”
