The incident, which occurred at the NEC Hall in Wadata Plaza, Abuja, escalated after protocol officers insisted the two individuals had “no legitimate reason” to be present.
According to The Cable, the situation turned chaotic as security personnel physically ejected the individuals, causing a glass door at the venue to be shattered in the process.
Earlier, Naija News had reported that members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) were barred from entering the same venue, with armed police officers sealing off the building.
Security forces had taken control of the PDP headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, blocking access points and disrupting planned meetings.
The turmoil is unfolding amid an intensifying leadership struggle within the party, particularly concerning the National Secretary role and the authority over the National Working Committee (NWC).
The crisis has deepened existing divisions within the PDP, as factions loyal to Acting National Chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum and Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja battle for control of the party’s hierarchy.
