Driver Nabbed For Plotting To Sell Employer’s Car In Edo

According to SP Moses Yamu, the command’s spokesperson, the suspects were caught after negotiating with a potential buyer who offered N4 million for the car. However, they were demanding N6 million.

“On September 3, 2024, around 3:45 PM, the X-Squad arrested Mustapha Suleiman, 27, and Isaac Joseph, 25, based on credible information. They were found with a Toyota RAV4, registration number EKY 855 JJ, suspected to be stolen. During questioning, the suspects admitted to stealing the vehicle from Lagos State and were seeking a buyer,” SP Yamu said.

In a statement to journalists, Suleiman explained, “I am a driver, and the car belongs to my employer. When she asked me to wash the car, I decided to drive it to Edo and sell it.” He added that their intention was to sell the car for N6 million to fund a laundry business.
