As a native of Owan East, his profound influence in Otuo, especially in Wards 8 and 9, helped drive significant voter turnout. These wards didn’t just participate—they turned out in record numbers, delivering crushing blows to the opposition PDP.
His leadership energized every campaign rally, grassroots meeting, and strategy session, ensuring no detail was overlooked in the race to victory. However, his influence extended far beyond his home in Owan East, reaching communities like Isiuwa Ward in Ovia North East, where he rallied widespread support. His strategic efforts transformed these areas into APC strongholds, contributing to decisive victories across multiple wards.
Crucially, Dr. Umakhihe also served as the Director of Finance for the APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council, a vital role that ensured the financial stability of the campaign. His impact, however, transcends politics. As a former Federal Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, he left a lasting legacy of community development across Edo State.
From building schools and roads to empowering youth and women through agricultural initiatives, his projects have improved lives statewide.
