Dumebi Kachikwu Explodes: ‘Arsonists Can’t Lead Us!’ – Rejects Atiku, El-Rufai, Amaech

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, Kachikwu made it clear that he opposes collaborating with veteran politicians, stressing that Nigeria needs a break from the past and a new generation of leadership.

According to Kachikwu, the political class that contributed to the nation’s problems cannot be trusted to lead its recovery.
“We need fresh ideas and new ideals,” he said. “Those who set the house on fire cannot be the ones sitting inside it. It’s the fire brigade that should be putting out the flames. I cannot work with them.”

He also announced plans to challenge what he described as the hijacking of his party by “old politicians” and affirmed his readiness to seek redress through the courts: “Absolutely, yes. I will go to court against them.”

Meanwhile, the Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, demanding his resignation for aligning with the new coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.

Obi had joined other top political figures on Wednesday in selecting the ADC as the platform for the opposition alliance aimed at unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement released on Thursday by the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, the group distanced itself from the coalition, labeling its members as “power-hungry” and “frustrated politicians,” and warning that Obi’s actions conflict with the party’s current stance.
