Residents of Edo State are set to elect a new governor today, September 21, 2024, following the departure of Governor Godwin Obaseki after his two-term tenure.

The leading candidates in today’s election include Asue Ighodalo of the PDP, Senator Monday Okpebholo of the APC, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party. A total of seventeen candidates are vying for the governorship, comprising sixteen men and one woman.
