Edo Guber: APC Warns Obaseki, Ighodalo Of Safety Risks In Benin Streets ....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki to publicly accompany Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Asue Ighodalo on a walk through the streets of Benin City and other areas of the state, suggesting it could result in an adverse outcome for the governor, hinting at potential confrontation.

The dare was issued during the inauguration of local government and ward campaign councils in Oredo Local Government Area, where the APC also addressed internal party affairs. The party urged dissatisfied members following the gubernatorial primaries, which selected Senator Monday Okpebholo as their candidate, to support him for the upcoming elections.

Deputy gubernatorial candidate Dennis Idahosa outlined the APC’s priorities, pledging to build upon former Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s legacy by focusing on flood control, school reconstruction, tackling insecurity and cultism, and respecting traditional institutions.

Idahosa remarked, “We challenge Obaseki to walk hand in hand with his candidate, Asue Ighodalo, through the streets, while Oshiomhole and Okpebholo do the same. Obaseki risks injury if he ventures without protection, showing his detachment from the people.”

Okpebholo promised an administration focused on action over hearsay, pledging progress for Edo State. The APC Campaign Council’s Director-General, Matthew Uroghide, asserted confidence in their candidates, who he highlighted as active lawmakers in the National Assembly.

Additionally, Uroghide emphasized Oredo’s pivotal role in southern Edo’s political landscape, noting the unity of former political rivals under the APC banner as a precursor to victory. Campaign Council Director-General Osaro Obazee stressed unity among members for effective campaign strategies and electoral success, underscoring the consequences of anti-party activities.
