Edo State has been struck with deep sadness following the death of Most Reverend Patrick Ebosele Ekpu, the Emeritus Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City. Archbishop Ekpu passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 92.

In a heartfelt statement, Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for the Edo 2024 election, expressed profound sorrow over the loss of the esteemed religious leader.
