Edo Refinery Receives Large Crude Oil Shipment From Oza Oil Field

The Edo Refinery has received a consignment of 15,000 barrels of crude oil from the Oza Oil Field, marking a significant step in production. Sanmi Famuyide, CEO of Decklar Resources, confirmed this development in a recent press release, emphasizing the company’s consistent efforts to supply crude oil to the Trans Niger Pipeline for transport to the Bonny Export Terminal.

Collaborating with the State Government led by Governor Godwin Obaseki and AIPCC, ERPC developed the refinery under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Originally designed with a capacity of 6,000 barrels per day (bpd), the refinery is currently expanding to reach 21,000 bpd. With the necessary resources, it can produce 500,000 liters of diesel, 300,000 liters of Naphtha, and 200,000 liters of low-pour fuel oil.

The Oza Oil Field, managed by Decklar Resources Inc. and Millenium Oil & Gas Company Limited, plays a pivotal role in supplying crude oil. Famuyide expressed satisfaction with the milestone of the first crude oil exports from the Oza Oil Field, highlighting its positive impact on revenue generation.

Furthermore, Famuyide outlined the ongoing efforts to enhance field development activities, including re-entries and drilling plans, fueled by the steady revenue stream. The crude oil, primarily sold to Shell Western Supply and Trading Limited (Shell), undergoes transportation via the Trans Niger Pipeline to the Bonny Export Terminal.

The recent export cargo of 15,000 barrels signifies a promising start, with sales proceeds expected by the end of March. Decklar and Millenium anticipate further export nominations from Shell, underscoring the continuous growth trajectory of the operation.
