In their politically charged declaration, the group urged Pastor Ize-Iyamu to throw his hat into the governorship race, emphasizing the urgent need to set the political records straight.
They pointed to the current proliferation of aspirants in the gubernatorial race as a direct consequence of Pastor Ize-Iyamu’s decision not to publicly declare his intention to run for office. Their assertion shed light on the pivotal role Pastor Ize-Iyamu plays in shaping the political landscape of Edo state.
In the same breath, ECYGG didn’t mince words when they decried the incumbent administration’s poor management of the state. Their statement was laden with political rhetoric, painting a vivid picture of the dissatisfaction that has swept across the state.

Snippet of Statement: “Edo Concerned Youths for Good Governance (ECYGG) stands united and resolute in our call for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to enter the governorship race and provide the leadership Edo state desperately needs.
The proliferation of aspirants we witness today is a direct consequence of his undeclared intentions. Our state yearns for the transformative change that only a leader of his caliber can bring. We firmly believe that, had he assumed office after the 2020 gubernatorial election, the state’s trajectory would have been one of progress, prosperity, and good governance.
