with the student union and the management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, regarding the arrest of 69 students from the institution on charges related to internet-related fraud.

The students were apprehended in the Oduduwa Estate area of Ile-Ife, Osun State, based on credible intelligence about their alleged involvement in fraudulent internet activities, as stated in a statement on the EFCC’s verified social media platform.

Responding to the incident on his official Twitter handle, Adeleke conveyed that he had instructed the State Attorney General to work alongside the university’s administration, student union leadership, and the EFCC to protect the rights of the students. He emphasized his commitment to closely monitoring the situation.

In the meantime, the management of OAU has announced that a delegation from the university will visit the Ibadan Zonal Office of the EFCC to profile the individuals arrested during the early morning raid on hostels located outside the campus.

The university’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olanrewaju, confirmed the arrests but did not specify the exact number of students involved.
