The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is optimistic about defeating corruption in Nigeria, according to its Chairman, Ola Olukoyede. In his Eid-El-Kabir message, Olukoyede emphasized that with concerted efforts from all stakeholders in the anti-graft sector, the rising tide of corruption in the country can be overcome.
He stressed the importance of renewing efforts to combat various forms of economic and financial crimes, highlighting that achieving peace, progress, and unity in Nigeria, free from corruption and unethical practices, is achievable.
Olukoyede expressed confidence that Nigerians are not inherently corrupt and that the nation itself is fundamentally sound. He urged continued vigilance and collective action against threats to national progress, urging unity in the fight against economic and financial crimes.
During the Eid-El-Kabir celebration, he extended his felicitations to Muslims and called for the festival’s lessons of forbearance, sacrifice, faith, and hope to inspire increased dedication to serving the nation with integrity, free from corrupt practices.
