Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has affirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring a consistent power supply in the state.

During the inauguration of the state’s inaugural 3.6-megawatt Independent Power Project (IPP) in Ado Ekiti, the governor expressed optimism that the project’s success would attract more investors to the power sector in Ekiti.

Encouraging the residents to consider all electrical facilities in their communities as communal assets, Governor Oyebanji emphasized the need to protect them from vandalism.

He stated, “This way, the ongoing investment in the power sector will bring the desired shared prosperity result to our people.

For us, we are irrevocably committed to the rapid industrial development of Ekiti for employment and growth. This project is a major pointer to the fact that we are on course.”

Highlighting the significance of political stability and continuity, Governor Oyebanji noted that the commissioning of the project is a testament to the dividends of consistent governance.

He reflected on the project’s initiation under the leadership of his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, about two years ago, addressing the inadequate electricity supply to Ekiti through the national grid system at that time.
