The occasion marked the 300th day of his tenure and provided an opportunity to present his accomplishments and future plans.
The independent power plant initiative aims to alleviate the persistent challenges of inconsistent power supply experienced in specific areas of the state. Governor Oyebanji elaborated on various infrastructure undertakings to bolster the state’s development.
These endeavors encompass the reconnection of strategic locations like Ikogosi, Erijiyan, and Ikogosi Resort Centre to the national power grid to enhance the state’s tourism sector.
Additionally, the governor highlighted efforts to allocate funds (N1 billion) for reconnecting Ayekire and Ekiti East local governments, along with their Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), which have suffered a decade of power outage.
Addressing security concerns, the government installed solar lights in Ado Ekiti’s Atikokan area, aiming to illuminate the locality and deter criminal activities.
Infrastructure expansion was evident through the extension of the Omisanjana Transmission Substation’s 33KV line to Baptist High School, as well as the connection of the Ilawe 33KV line with Erinjiyan-Ikogosi.
To mitigate flooding and safeguard infrastructure, Oyebanji revealed the completion of waterway dredging projects in susceptible areas, such as Oreremope community, Ureje-olaoluwa, Basiri-Olorunda, and Omisanjana.
Governor Oyebanji outlined the financial allocation for social security, detailing expenditures of N96 million for 600 individuals through the Ekiti State Livelihood Grant initiative.
An additional N117 million was dedicated to the Ekiti State Cash Transfer Unit, aimed at alleviating extreme poverty among the most vulnerable segments of the population.
