El-Rufai noted that despite accusations of financial misappropriation, no specific evidence has been provided to show where any money went missing or who allegedly took it. He also lamented that his political allies were being targeted by anti-corruption agencies like the ICPC and EFCC, suggesting that these moves were aimed at tarnishing their reputations. Nonetheless, the former governor said he has left the matter to divine judgment, having prayed for God’s intervention.

It’s worth recalling that the Kaduna State House of Assembly had previously indicted El-Rufai’s administration for allegedly mismanaging over N423 billion during his eight-year tenure.
