El-Rufai’s Son Responds To Allegations Of EFCC Raid On His Kaduna roperty
Bello El-Rufai, the eldest son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has strongly denied rumors that operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided his Kaduna residence and discovered large sums of money in various currencies, as well as drugs hidden in vaults.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
El-Rufai, who currently represents the Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, described the allegations as “false” and an intentional attempt to undermine his credibility and distract from his public service. He also emphasized that the rumors—claiming the EFCC had found $800 million, N700 billion in cash, and N1 trillion worth of drugs—were completely unfounded.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, El-Rufai clarified that he does not own a residence in Kaduna, and the family home in Unguwar Sarki, where he has lived since birth, remains his only residence. He described the allegations as a deliberate effort to mislead the public, tarnish his reputation, and create confusion.
El-Rufai expressed confidence that his constituents would recognize the absurdity of the claims. “My constituents know what would happen if I were in possession of such sums. For those behind these baseless attacks, I assure you that we will continue to serve the people, and we will continue to frustrate their efforts with quality, honest representation,” he said.
He further criticized the spread of fake news aimed at manipulating public opinion and sowing discord. The allegations, he stated, were not only defamatory but also an affront to the principles of justice and fairness.
El-Rufai also announced that his legal team would pursue legal action against certain media outlets involved in spreading the false reports. Any compensation from these actions, he noted, would be used for the betterment of his constituency in Kaduna North.
Additionally, he pointed out that the image circulating in the media had originally been published by Vanguard in April 2017.
