Abdullahi assured customers that the restoration of power supply would occur promptly once the DisCo received bulk supply at various load centres within its franchise. The statement expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the outage.
The exact cause of the sudden loss of bulk power supply was not disclosed by the DisCo. However, recent challenges in gas supply have adversely affected electricity generation across Nigeria’s power plants for more than a month. Both electricity generating companies and distribution companies have raised concerns about the insufficient gas supply for power generation.
During a meeting with stakeholders on Thursday, the Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, pledged to address the ongoing issue and find a lasting solution to the challenges faced by the power sector.
