According to our correspondent, the Olodo bridge is currently undergoing construction by the Oyo State government at the time of the incident. The government had established the alternative route for those using the Ibadan-Iwo Road during the reconstruction efforts.

Despite the attempt to provide an alternative route, the flood resulting from a midnight rain in parts of Ibadan on Thursday left hundreds of residents and travelers stranded for several hours. The flood-induced traffic congestion led to extensive delays before road users could access the bridge.

A resident of Olodo shared with BUSHRADIOGIST the challenges faced, stating, “The alternative bridge was flooded. We cannot pass the way we have been doing. We spent forty minutes before we could pass the bridge today,” expressing the frustrations experienced by those affected by the situation.
