Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Ochei announced his resignation in a letter dated May 8, 2026, addressed to the APC Chairman of Ward 4 in Onicha-Olona, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The development was made public in a statement released on Thursday by his media aide, Austin Edemodu.

According to the former Speaker, his decision followed extensive consultations and careful consideration.

Ochei noted that he joined the APC in 2016 and played an active role in strengthening the party’s presence and grassroots structure in Delta State.

He said that alongside other loyal party members, efforts were made to expand the party’s influence, mobilise supporters, and increase its visibility across various communities in the state.

Explaining his exit, Ochei stated that he decided to move on in order to continue pursuing his political ideals and vision for public service.

He added that the decision was driven by his desire for broader political growth and alignment with his personal convictions.

The former lawmaker emphasized that his resignation was not borne out of anger or ill feelings toward anyone in the APC.

He also appealed to his supporters and political allies to remain calm, peaceful, and committed to democratic values.

However, Ochei did not reveal the political party or platform he plans to join after leaving the APC.
