During an appearance as a guest on a LEADERSHIP TV program in Abuja, Kunle, an expert in the energy field, expressed his viewpoint.
He stated that the ongoing Senate confirmation process for El-Rufai, coupled with security concerns, is unfolding dramatically. He hailed El-Rufai as one of the most accomplished public officials since 1999 in Nigeria.
Kunle emphasized the necessity for President Tinubu and Borno State Governor Shettima to conscientiously assemble a proficient cabinet that encompasses the brightest minds.
He highlighted the need to establish a robust economic management team, a pivotal requirement for the nation’s current circumstances.
He stated, “We have reached a juncture in the last eight years where we urgently require a rescue team. Regarding Mallam El-Rufai’s nomination, opinions may be divided.
However, the focal point of this government should be to construct a rescue team. In this context, Mallam El-Rufai’s Senate appearance has raised questions due to security reports, which can potentially be clarified in due course.
I urge the President to recognize that, starting from 1999 to the present, Malam El-Rufai stands as one of Nigeria’s most distinguished public servants.”
Kunle concluded, “During the inception of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, and alongside Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Malam El-Rufai joined the government in 1999. His performance remains indisputable. Therefore, we must not disregard his capabilities amidst any uncertainties.”
