Enough Is Enough” — Senator Ningi Finally Exits PDP After 28 Years

Ningi disclosed his decision in a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ningi Ward in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

According to him, the move came after extensive consultations with political stakeholders, allies, and supporters. The senator, who joined the PDP in 1998, had remained with the party for more than 28 years.

During his time in the PDP, Ningi served two terms in the House of Representatives and two terms in the Senate under the party’s platform.

He described the PDP as “once the largest political party in Africa,” noting that it was previously admired for its ideology, unity, and commitment to democratic governance.

However, he lamented that persistent leadership crises, factional disputes, and conflicting interests had weakened the party’s structure and cohesion.

“It is now a great concern and worrisome to me that this virile and united platform could be turned into a ramshackle organisation with internal leadership wrangling and factional interests,” he stated.

Ningi described his exit from the PDP as one of the toughest decisions of his political life, adding that the party had provided him with the platform to serve both his constituency and Nigeria honourably.

He also appreciated party leaders and members at different levels for their support throughout his political journey.

“As I continue my political career outside the People’s Democratic Party, please accept my best regards,” he added.
