The Investment and Economic Growth Roundtable, which serves as a prelude to the maiden Diaspora and Investment Forum scheduled for the second quarter of 2024, will gather investors from diverse industries, both locally and globally.
The ambitious ₦1.6 trillion Naira ($2.1 billion) project pipeline encompasses various sectors such as transportation, healthcare infrastructure, energy, power, and agro-allied industrialization.
Esteemed figures including senior executives from entities like the World Bank Group, African Development Bank Group, International Finance Corporation, African Export-Import Bank, United Kingdom Department for Trade and Business, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund, commercial banks, corporate pension funds, private equity funds, infrastructure funds, and domestic financial institutions will convene in Enugu.
Their objective is to strategically mobilize private capital for large-scale infrastructure endeavors, including projects aligned with net-zero objectives, thereby unlocking the economic potential of Enugu State and South-Eastern Nigeria.
During the roundtable discussions, a spectrum of topics will be addressed, encompassing overcoming investment and economic growth barriers in Enugu State, bolstering investor confidence, understanding investor risk-return preferences, and identifying collaboration prospects for project preparation and co-investments.
According to Prof. Onyia, these efforts align with Governor Mbah’s resolute ambition to elevate the Enugu State economy from $4.4 billion to an impressive $30 billion.
The implementation of the Integrated Sector-Based Productivity Growth Strategy will facilitate growth in sectors with significant potential, fostering innovation, reducing unnecessary regulation, and propelling overall economic advancement.
