Ex-Governor Fayose Rules Out Reconciliation Amid Wike-Fubara Clash
Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has ruled out any possibility of reconciliation between Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. Reacting to the escalating political feud between the two, Fayose expressed disappointment over the turn of events during an appearance on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics. He described the rift as unfortunate but stressed that it has gone beyond a point where reconciliation could be effective.

“The crisis is very unfortunate,” Fayose remarked, explaining that the breakdown in trust between Wike and Fubara has made it impossible to restore their relationship. “The matter has crossed the Rubicon. Even if you want to resolve this, where do you rebuild the trust?” he questioned, signaling that the conflict had spiraled out of control.

In addition to commenting on the Wike-Fubara clash, Fayose criticized the internal turmoil within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He lamented the ongoing suspensions and counter-suspensions among top leaders, which he described as deeply embarrassing. According to Fayose, only divine intervention could repair the fractured state of the party and restore its unity.

The situation highlights not only the political challenges in Rivers State but also broader struggles within the PDP, especially after its loss in the 2023 elections.
