NNPP Leaders Reject Kwankwaso’s Faction, Burn Kwankwasiya Symbols In ProtestSome members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Niger State have openly rejected the leadership of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso within the party. According to Naija News, Dr. Gilbert Agbo, the factional National Chairman leading the opposition to Kwankwasiya, made this stance clear during a meeting at the party’s secretariat in Minna. Agbo stated that Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiya faction pose a serious threat to the progress and survival of the party.

At the North Central Zonal meeting in Minna, Agbo claimed that Kwankwaso’s suspension by the National Working Committee in Lagos effectively nullified his membership and influence in the party. Agbo also took a symbolic step by overseeing the burning of Kwankwasiya’s trademark red caps at the state secretariat, marking a firm split from Kwankwaso’s faction.

In addition, Agbo announced that Kano State Governor, Kabir Abba Yusuf, would be summoned before the party’s disciplinary committee for not adhering to party principles and authority.

In response, Mallam Danladi Umar Abdulhamid, leader of the Kwankwasiya Movement in Niger State, challenged Agbo’s legitimacy as national chairman. He argued that the actions were driven by Agbo’s personal interests rather than the will of party members. Abdulhamid maintained that Kwankwaso remains recognized as the party’s national leader under Dr. Ahmed Ajuji’s leadership.
