Ms. Martins, who was publicly disowned by Obasanjo earlier this week after she appealed to Nigerians to forgive him for his public criticism of traditional rulers in Iseyin, Oyo State, expressed her views on the former president.

She asserted that Obasanjo “arrogantly believes he possesses the unquestionable authority over life and death and has the ability to completely discredit anyone who attempts to point out his errors or disagrees with his inflexible and all-powerful approach to handling issues.”

Obasanjo acknowledged that Ms. Martins is the mother of two of his children but clarified that she is neither his legal wife nor a member of the Obasanjo family.

His response was delivered through his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, who emphasized that Ms. Martins’ claim to be Chief Obasanjo’s wife is false and that of an impostor.

In response to the disavowal, Ms. Martins issued a lengthy statement, stating, “For the record, I want the world to understand that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is the ultimate impostor, a liar, and a deceiver who now places himself on the same level as Almighty God.

He arrogantly believes that he possesses the unassailable authority over life and death and the power to completely silence anyone who dares to point out his mistakes or disagrees with his rigid and all-powerful approach to problem-solving.
