Ekpo applauded the creation of the state, which has facilitated infrastructural development across its 31 local government areas, benefiting various communities.
He acknowledged Akwa Ibom’s abundance of human and natural resources, including untapped gas reserves, and pledged to collaborate with the state government, private sector investors, and other stakeholders to unlock the state’s gas potential for the benefit of both the state and the nation.
In his statement, he expressed appreciation for the peaceful coexistence of various ethnic groups, cultures, and religions within the state.
He also acknowledged the efforts of past and present governments in driving infrastructure development and human capital growth, highlighting the contributions of notable leaders such as Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Ekpo assured that the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources (Gas), aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, is committed to partnering with Akwa Ibom State to explore opportunities in the gas and green energy sectors.
This partnership aims to promote the use of gas as an alternative fuel in homes, automobiles, and the power sector while boosting revenue and job creation for the state and the nation.
