Renowned political commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has expressed strong criticism towards a group known as the Obidients for their insistence on Peter Gregory Obi’s alleged victory in the recently concluded election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Omokri further condemned their support for a minor who was exposed for inflating her score in a previous Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. CONTINUE READING
In a series of social media posts, Omokri questioned the bias of Obi supporters dubbed ‘Obidients’ unwavering belief in Obi’s supposed triumph, despite fully knowing a divided opposition of LP, PDP can’t defeat an incumbent APC.
Additionally, Omokri criticized the Obidients‘ defense of the minor involved in JAMB score inflation, describing it as a misplaced endorsement of dishonest practices. He emphasized the need for ethical conduct and integrity in academic pursuits, asserting that such actions undermine the credibility of the educational system.
He further added that such backward people are dwelling in an upside down world.
He wrote; “How can you want the third position in #NigerianElections2023 to be declared President by INEC, and then also want the ADULT who scored 249 to be declared the highest scorer by JAMB”.
“I find it ironic that those who shouted most about the alleged rigging out of Peter Obi during the #NigerianElections2023 are the same ones using ethnicity and religion to attack the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.”
“How can you want the PEPC to investigate the results of the elections and establish the true winner, yet you are opposed to JAMB investigating the results and establishing the facts? It shows that your reaction varies depending on who is involved.”
“The JAMB has given its verdict. If anyone has concrete evidence that they are lying or targeting any group of Nigerians, then come out with concrete proof, not innuendo. Whipping up ethnic and religious sentiments over a purely technical matter will not help anyone. Nigeria is already deeply divided from the #NigerianElections2023.”
“There is no need to raise innuendo that will further divide the country. Rather than speculating or making this about ethnicity and bias against certain parts of Nigeria, why not hold your peace until the investigative panel set up by the Anambra State Government establishes the facts? And perhaps the Anambra State government and non-governmental bodies concerned should have FIRST verified from the JAMB DIRECTLY by writing them a letter before relying on social media reports.”
