Ex-Security Chief Al-Mustapha Joins 2027 Battle, Sends Strong Message To Political Class

Addressing the gathering, he expressed deep concern over Nigeria’s current challenges, stating his readiness to provide the country with a new sense of direction grounded in integrity and vision.
“I am deeply troubled by the state of our nation, but I believe with the right leadership and commitment, Nigeria can rise again. Though the journey may be tough, we can rebuild the nation we all dream of,” he said.
According to him, the meeting in Minna forms part of a wider national consultation to rally support ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement by Jubril Umar Sanda, Director of News Media and ICT for the campaign, Al-Mustapha is described as “fully prepared for the journey ahead, ready to serve with integrity, courage, and a clear plan for national progress.”
During his visit to Niger State, the former CSO also stopped in Mokwa to commiserate with residents affected by a recent flood that displaced over 200 people and caused the loss of property worth millions. He called for immediate relief efforts and sustainable solutions to prevent future disasters.
He emphasized the importance of competent leadership, national unity, and sustainable development in overcoming the country’s pressing problems.
Meanwhile, SDP State Chairman Alhaji Buhari Yakubu Yarima welcomed Al-Mustapha’s presidential bid, expressing confidence in the party’s prospects for 2027.
“With credible candidates and a bold vision, the SDP is positioned to be a major contender in the next elections,” Yarima stated.
