The Nigerian ReNewed Hope Solidarity Movement (NRHSM) has emphasized the pivotal role of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s pragmatic policies and programs in steering the country away from bankruptcy. In a statement released to the press in Abuja, the National Coordinator, Tom Obulu, hailed the incumbent administration’s relentless efforts in combating corruption over the past year.
Obulu underscored the group’s fervent desire to see Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda permeate all levels of society, ensuring inclusive benefits for all citizens. The group characterized the administration’s decisions as bold and courageous, effectively guiding the nation’s course.
Commending the Tinubu administration for its proactive stance in averting financial crisis, the movement spotlighted key initiatives such as the removal of fuel subsidies, forex market reforms, and the establishment of a student loan scheme to facilitate underprivileged students’ access to quality education.
Moreover, the NRHSM applauded the administration’s initiatives such as the one million nano business owners program, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, and the completion of the Aba-Port Harcourt railway line.
In discouraging opposition groups from fomenting unrest, the movement urged the government to address hoarding practices to stave off inflationary pressures. Additionally, it echoed the sentiments of Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammed Matawale, regarding the Northern Elders Forum’s limited mandate to represent the entire region, branding them a political liability to northerners.
Obulu amplified the NRHSM’s stance, criticizing the NEF’s lack of engagement in monitoring the administration’s achievements and accusing them of pursuing power for power’s sake. He called for national solidarity in supporting the government’s agenda for good governance.
Regarding labor demands for a minimum wage increase, Obulu cautioned against setting the benchmark at N615,000, warning of potential hyperinflation that could undermine the nation’s stability, likening it to a banana republic.
