Exploring The Reasons: Force Headquarters’ Move To Detain Yahaya Bello’s ADC Scrutinized....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The decision to detain the former aide-de-camp (ADC) to ex-Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, came from the Police Force headquarters due to the officer’s reluctance to provide details regarding the former governor’s escape from his Abuja residence, where EFCC operatives were poised for his arrest.
Reports indicated that during the EFCC’s surveillance of the residence, Kogi’s current Governor Ododo was seen arriving and departing, leading to speculation that Bello may have left in the governor’s vehicle. However, Kogi State’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, refuted these claims, dismissing them as the product of vested interests.
When questioned about Bello’s escape, the ADC reportedly remained uncooperative, prompting the directive for her and other police guards to appear before the FCT Criminal Investigations Department, where they were detained. The investigation aims to ascertain the circumstances of Bello’s departure and any potential involvement of the officers.
The EFCC’s operation to apprehend Bello was part of an ongoing probe into allegations of misconduct and possible legal infractions by the former governor.
Efforts to obtain updates from the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, regarding the duration of the ADC’s detention and the possibility of disciplinary action, including an orderly room trial, were unsuccessful.
This situation unfolds amidst other news, including reports on child labor and schooling, a forthcoming US House vote on aid packages, and tragic auto accidents in Kano.
