Explosive Discovery! Massive Ammunition Stockpile Found In Kaduna — Police Reveal Chilling Details
The Kaduna State Police Command has launched a manhunt for those behind the discovery of 210 rounds of 7.56mm ammunition that fell from a moving vehicle along the Zaria–Funtua highway on Tuesday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Police spokesperson Mansur Hassan, in a statement, said attempts to track down the fleeing vehicle were unsuccessful due to delays in relaying information to officers on patrol.
He explained that investigators suspect the occupants of the vehicle may have discarded the ammunition after noticing heightened police activity, including intensified motorised patrols and snap checkpoints across the state. A full-scale search for the suspects is now in progress.
Panic had erupted earlier on Tuesday when a trailer unknowingly dropped a bag containing live bullets along the Zaria–Sokoto highway, near Ahmadu Bello University.
The bag reportedly slipped from a heavily loaded vehicle whose driver was unaware of the incident.
Eyewitnesses, speaking in a video obtained by Naija News on Wednesday, said the ammunition was found close to the university’s perimeter—an area frequented by students and travellers heading to northern routes.
“Asalamu Alaikum people. A vehicle passed here and the driver didn’t know the bag of bullets had fallen,” one of the voices in the clip said.
Another eyewitness suggested the vehicle was overloaded, which may have caused the bag to fall unnoticed.
Amid growing tension, residents urged bystanders not to tamper with the ammunition, warning that such discoveries heighten fears tied to rising terrorism, banditry, and mass abductions in the region.
