Sh*cking Revelation: Kainji National Park Has Become A Safe Haven For Terrorists
Jafaru Mohammad Ali, the member representing Borgu/Agwara Federal Constituency in Niger State, has sounded the alarm that Kainji National Park, once a hub for wildlife and tourism, has been overtaken by terrorists.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The lawmaker, who recently survived a brutal bandit attack, raised the concern on Wednesday while speaking to journalists after the House adopted his motion under Matters of Urgent Public Importance. He called for immediate military intervention to protect his constituency from the daily attacks by these audacious criminals.
Ali appealed directly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene before the crisis worsens, highlighting that terrorists now control the park, displacing rangers, taking over administrative offices, and converting tourist facilities into operational bases.
“No one can enter the park anymore. It has become a terrorist haven. Residents are being displaced, forced to compromise, or killed. If urgent action is not taken, the entire constituency risks total domination by these criminals, who operate openly without challenge,” he said.
He added that many of the terrorists are foreign fighters moving through interconnected forest reserves to consolidate control over the region. Ali cited recent incidents linked to the park, including the November 21 abduction of 303 students and 12 teachers from St. Mary’s Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara LGA; the November 4 ambush on his convoy; and the November 2 killings at Gidan Guga.
The lawmaker urged the House to instruct the Chief of Defence Staff to deploy well-equipped troops and establish Forward Operating Bases in strategic communities such as Lumma, Audu Fari, Agwara, and Mago.
He also called for President Tinubu’s immediate and direct intervention, citing the longstanding ties between the Borgu Emirate and the President. Ali warned that failure to act could worsen residents’ suffering.
“We supported him. We won all the polling units for him. We don’t want anything from him—only peace in our communities,” he concluded.
