Ezekwesili warned that Nigerians may eventually demand that senators and members of the House of Representatives leave their positions due to their continuous misbehavior.
She criticized the spending of public funds on luxury cars when a significant portion of the population struggles to afford basic needs such as food, transportation, education, and healthcare due to the cost of living crisis.
She emphasized the lawmakers’ insensitivity and heartlessness in making such a decision during a period of severe economic hardship for citizens and the nation.
Ezekwesili concluded by stating that the National Assembly’s behavior poses a significant threat to Nigeria’s democracy, and she predicted that citizens, rather than the military, would eventually rise up and demand change.
