The news was revealed by a worker of the hospital where he has been receiving treatment for the past months, although confirmation is still ongoing.

Mr. Ibu had been battling with an undisclosed ailment for some time, which had significantly affected his mobility and appearance. Recall he had appealed to his fans for help and prayers a few days before his amputation. The actor mentioned he had been in the hospital for a prolonged period and that the medical director had suggested amputating his leg as a last resort, which was eventually carried out before this tragic news.

The actor, who celebrated his 62nd birthday in the hospital on 17th October 2023, is renowned for his uproarious roles in movies such as “Mr. Ibu in London,” “Mr. Ibu and Son,” and “Police Recruit.” He is esteemed as one of the most gifted and influential comedians in Nollywood.
