He made the remarks on Monday during an inspection tour of several major road and infrastructure projects across Abuja ahead of their planned commissioning in June. The inauguration is expected to form part of activities marking the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The projects inspected include the Renewed Hope City Access Road in Karsana District, the rehabilitation of Old Keffi Road, FCT Highway 105 (Airport Road to Kuje), the Kuje to Gwagwalada Road (Phase 1), and the City Gate remodelling project.

Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work at the various sites, describing the day as one of his most fulfilling since assuming office, given that the projects are now ready for commissioning.

He described the City Gate facelift as a visionary initiative inspired by the First Lady, praising her contribution to the administration’s infrastructure drive.

According to him, “This is what happens when you have a supportive and visionary First Lady who genuinely cares about the success of her husband’s administration. I am referring to Senator Oluremi Tinubu. This is her brainchild.”

Wike added that he believed the First Lady would be pleased with the outcome of the project, while also commending the contractors for delivering quality work.

He noted that the upgraded City Gate would present a striking new appearance to visitors entering Abuja at night, describing it as a fitting transformation of Nigeria’s capital city.
