FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this during the distribution event in Kwali Area Council on Monday, clarifying that each council would receive 2,000 bags of rice and maize.

He was represented by Bitrus Garki, the Mandate Secretary of the Area Council Secretariat, FCTA. Wike emphasized that this initiative is part of the ongoing effort to provide relief to vulnerable individuals residing in the nation’s capital.

Wike explained that some food items had already been distributed to various groups in the past two weeks, including area councils, representatives of 17 Chiefdoms, religious organizations, civil servants, and vulnerable groups. The positive feedback from these distributions has prompted the expansion of the current distribution.

The Minister underlined that this endeavor aligns with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, with the aim of instilling hope for a brighter future for all Nigerians.

He also emphasized that this distribution phase seeks to bring these items directly to the people, facilitating outreach to vulnerable groups simultaneously in all six Area Councils of the FCT.
