Ekpo emphasized the federal government’s proactive stance in expanding gas utilization and diversifying energy sources, thereby reducing environmental impact. The commissioning of the Nedogas Plant and the Kwale Gas Gathering Facility, he noted, exemplifies significant strides in effectively harnessing natural gas resources. These infrastructural developments at Kwale promise enhanced gas processing capabilities, bolstering both domestic supply and export potential.

Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme, hailed the projects as beneficial to Delta State, foreseeing substantial job creation and economic upliftment. He advocated for similar initiatives across the state to mitigate the adverse effects of gas flaring on local communities.
