Falana emphasized that BASA stipulates reciprocity in flight operations on the route, in accordance with the agreement signed by both nations.
Consequently, he argued that it was unjust and inconsistent with the agreement for British Airways and Virgin Atlantic to continue their flights into Nigeria without any Nigerian airline offering flights to London in return.
He further noted that Air Peace has demonstrated its capability to operate international routes, pointing out that the airline presently offers services to destinations such as China, Israel, India, and South Africa, utilizing modern aircraft that are on par with those of foreign competitors.
“If Air Peace is not permitted to operate flights to London, then British Airways and Virgin Atlantic should be restricted from flying to Nigeria,” he asserted.
