Femi Falana Demands Justice and Human Rights Protection in Okuama:

A Plea to the AGFRenowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, has penned a compelling letter to the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, urging immediate action to halt what he termed “egregious violations” of human rights in the Okuama community of Delta State.

In his letter dated April 24, 2024, Falana expressed deep concern over reported instances of abuse and injustice against innocent members of the Okuama community, following the tragic killing of 16 soldiers allegedly by criminal elements.Falana’s letter emphasized the importance of upholding due process and the rule of law, particularly criticizing the military’s declaration of suspects as wanted without proper legal authorization.

He underscored the necessity for the Attorney-General’s office to intervene and address the grievances outlined in his communication.
